Bayliss McDonald Cabin
A cabin dating around 1850 still survives in a field to the north
of Lost Acres Lane. The cabin was owned by a farmer named Bayliss
McDonald and later rented by Mr. & Mrs. Carl Weaver.
Jim Priest bought the land at auction for twenty-five and one-quarter
cents per acre, one-quarter cent higher than the previous bidder.
The current owner is Doug Green. The cabin is used on occasion by
a mother fox to raise her kits.
Hinsons Ford Read was once blocked at several points by gates,
to keep livestock contained.
