Philip Amiss House, 14847 Lee Highway

This house was built by Philip Newport Amiss. He had two wives who were sisters, Polly and Edna Bayse. (Remember, Amissville was almost named Baseyville, after the Bayse family.) He married the second sister after the first sister died. Their graves were marked by a fieldstone engraved "PA." When the house was moved from Lee Highway it was placed directly over the cemetery. Later owners included Singleton and Silvey. The house is currently owned by Steve and Victoria Miller.
